Cacao beans that have undergone a natural fermentation process are dried, have their shells removed and are crushed into a paste. This paste is then pressed at low temperatures to separate the oils (cacao butter) from the fibre which is finely milled and turned into velvety cacao powder.
Our minimally processed cacao powder still retains most of the antioxidants and flavanols (the things that keep you young and healthy) unlike its Dutch cousin. Research has shown that 60-90% of the original antioxidants in cacao are lost through common "Dutch processing".
This superfood is high in Iron, Magnesium, Calcium and acts as a natural mood elevator and anti-depressant.

Storage Instructions: Store in a cool, dry place - and ensure an airtight seal after each use which will ensure product does not lose flavour. Avoid moisture or condensation.
Use them in baked goods for recipes that call for cocoa powder or cooking chocolate. You can also add them to your milk, smoothies or sprinkle them over your home made coffee for your own mocha or cappuccino.
